Toria grew up in a small town called Boones Mill, Virginia at the foothills of the Appalachian mountains. Her maternal grandmother grew up in Grassy Creek (northern Ashe county) and the High Country has always been a special place for her family. She studied biochemistry and Spanish at Virginia Tech, then received her medical degree from Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg, Virginia. She graduated from MAHEC-Boone family medicine residency program in June 2024 and plans to stay in the High Country for the rest of her life practicing primary care for families and patients of all ages. Special interests include women’s health, care for Spanish-speaking populations, and osteopathic manipulation. She lives in Jefferson with her husband, Patrick, and their cat, Freddie. They are excited to explore Ashe County (downtown and all the beautiful hikes), turn their new backyard into a vegetable/herb garden, and get involved in projects in the community and through their church.
