AppHealthCare Ashe Health Center, 413 McConnell Street in Jefferson
Phipps Construction has been contracted by Ashe County Government to complete the renovations which includes enhancing the space for a better workflow, updating the HVAC system, and repairing the floors, ceilings and walls that had water damage.
Adam Stumb, Ashe County Manager, stated “the Ashe Health Center renovation project is coming along, on schedule. The damaged sheetrock has been replaced and the walls have been sanded and primed. Concrete has been poured for the floors and new cabinetry has been ordered for the front office and clinic space. We are continuing to meet regularly with Phipps Construction and AppHealthCare to ensure progress is moving forward.”
As renovations are taking place, AppHealthCare is working behind the scenes to make sure the logistics of moving back into the building are ready to go. New furniture is being ordered and information technology infrastructure like phone and internet are being evaluated to make sure it will meet the needs of the updated space.
Representatives from Phipps Construction, Ashe County Government and AppHealthCare meet as a group every month to review progress and ensure everything is on schedule. Renovations will likely take place in phases so the building can become operational and open to the public sooner. The first phase is expected to be completed sometime this summer.

AppHealthCare continues to see patients at their satellite clinic located on the Ashe Government complex near the Cooperative Extension building at 134 Government Complex in Jefferson.
