Carrington’s mother’s family is from Todd and she was fortunate to spend much of her youth in Watauga County during her elementary and high school years. She returned to the mountains with her husband John and daughter Hannah in 1993. Carrington previously worked as a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse and a Health Department Registered Nurse in Boone before receiving her Certified Nurse Midwife degree in 2002. Her love for Women’s Healthcare has kept her in the field for more than 25 years in Watauga County. She is excited to be returning to her “roots” in Public Health serving the women and families in her community. Certified Nurse Midwives offer a range of healthcare for women across their lifespan from teenage to postmenopause. Carrington specializes in contraception, gynecological care, peri/postmenopause, prenatal and postpartum care. She looks forward to partnering with the amazing providers at AppHealthCare and caring for her community for years to come.
